My Gate Called Beautiful

I will never forget that early Sunday morning

My spirits were low and my heart was yearning

I was on way to that little storefront church

My life had been changing as I began to search

Then I saw my Gate called Beautiful

There was a man they called pitiful

He reached out his hand and together we held on tight

His hand was still cold from the dark of night

Chorus

He said I don't need your money son or any worldly thing

All I want to do is to shout and sing

And tell all the world what has happened to me

As I praise His name for all eternity

Here at my Gate called Beautiful

He said I have been to my Gate called Beautiful

What I received was so wonderful

He is all that I will ever need

Never again will I beg or plead

Bridge

There is more than one Gate called Beautiful

Where Goodness and Mercy are bountiful

Where the lost are found and captives are freed

Saved by Grace not by works or deeds

Never no never should we ever give up

There is living water in the Savior's cup

Drink all you want it is better than wine

It is yours and theirs and it is also mine

Chorus

No we don't need any money or any worldly thing

We just need to praise Him as we shout and sing

And tell the world who has set us free

When He gave His life for us all up on Calvary's tree

No we don't need any money or any worldly thing

At our Gate called Beautiful He gave us everything

So thankful for our Gate called Beautiful

"His Whispers"

As my head hits the pillow and I lay down for the night

And in those precious moments just after I turn out the light

Rest will soon come as I sleep in the dreams in which I delight

I listen and I listen for the One who makes things alright

His whispers touch my spirit and warm my soul with hope, joy, and love

The gentle breeze of angel's wings touches my heart from up above

The voice of Holy God tells me that everything will be ok

I listen for His whispers to give me courage to meet another day

Sunlight comes and worries enter as the author of lies tries to lead me astray

But my God through the Holy Spirit will chase them all away

Reaching for my Bible I go the source that will guide me on my way

Casting out imaginations I kneel down on my knees and pray

His whispers touch my spirit and warm my soul with hope, joy, and love

The gentle breeze of angel's wings touches my heart from up above

The voice of Holy God tells me that everything will be ok

I listen for His whispers to give me courage to meet another day

Bringing down strongholds my God will take my cares away

He blesses me immeasurably and tells me what to say

Rooted and grounded in faith, I walk stronger every single day

But if I slip He catches me and helps me along life's way

Ask and I shall receive, seek and I will surely find

Knock and the door will be opened, then worldly chains can not bind

In Him I see so clearly and the world can't clutter my mind

Now I can see His perfect plan for me, no longer will I be blind

His whispers touch my spirit and warm my soul with hope, joy, and love

The gentle breeze of angel's wings touches my heart from up above

The voice of Holy God tells me that everything will be ok

I listen for His whispers to give me courage to meet another day

"A Mere Breath in Time"

Marty Denton

BMI

He told me as we sat under that old oak tree over yonder

He told me stories about all his 80 years

Fighting on the beaches of Normandy helping to keep his country free

He talked about the friends he lost while holding back the tears

Chorus

Life is just a mere breath in time

Like a vapor it fades away every time

Always is always it never turns into sometime

Life passes away like a mere breath in time

He took me down a road that led us to 3 graves

For 50 years he had walked this road every single day

He remembered the days when their lives were so full of joy

Then in an instant he lost his wife and their two little baby boys

Bridge

When that big angry cloud came up and they were just too far away

Caught in between the shelter and the river he lost his world that day

Chorus

Life is just a mere breath in time

Like a vapor it fades away every time

Always is always it never turns into sometime

Life passes away like a mere breath in time

Now he stood there chewing on a piece of hay and he said he felt like that the hurt would never go away

As he knelt down on the grass I heard the words he had to say

Life is a like a vapor son and it so quickly fades away

Hold on to each moment and cling on to everyday

Chorus

Life is just a mere breath in time

Like a vapor it fades away every time

Always is always it never turns into sometime

Life passes away like a mere breath in time

Life passes away like a mere breath in time

The Words in Red

written by

Marty Denton

Sitting on the back row on an old wooden pew

Holding on to my Bible was all that I knew to do

I stood up and said, "Lord today I answer the call.

I surrender it all inside these church house walls."

Chorus

Trusting in God I lean on Him everyday

Walking the path that will lead me along life's way

Believing in Jesus I'll do all the things He said

I'll open up this old Bible and I'll read the Words in Red
