AUTHOR’S PREFACE

Half of my life I was dreaming to be a rich man. I was wondering how most of well-known people came to this stage.

What stands behinds their success?

All my thoughts were busy with this secret.

I couldn’t spend any single day without thinking how to become successful, rich and how to achieve all my goals.

Spending a lot of days, while reading stories about getting the power of the will,

I realized that all of them are based on the same thing that is always on your mind. But unfortunately most of the time it’s on a “sleep mode” and all what you need to do is to make it work for you.

You gain what you focus on, what you deeply need and what you believe in.

This book will explain you that everything is in your mind and you can easily change the world around you, once you know how to use the power of Autosuggestion. Once I started to use this wonderful tool, which I originally faced by coincidence, that happened when I started to talk to the most beautiful girl in my life that is now my wife, I realized that it really works.

I always dreamed to find a woman with which we can live happy life and understand each other.

And suddenly and regardless the far distance between each other, we finally met and now am living the life of my dream.

This tool works with any part of your life, no matter if it’s relationship, health or wealth.

Now we are living the rich life because we follow the codes that you will find in this book.

These few simple codes will “wakeup” your mind and clarify how to direct your thoughts and power into a way to get what you really need.

I wish all of you will be enjoying while reading this book and I am sure that full understanding of described codes will bring you success.

What is autosuggestion?

Between your ears is the most powerful machine on the planet.

It has started wars, built cities, and pushed mankind out of the Stone Age. The best part of it all it can be programmed by autosuggestion.

I’ll say this: this book is the most thorough walk through of autosuggestion on the Internet.

It compiles the knowledge of the leading minds in psychology and personal development along with my own personal experience to provide a full working basis of how to use this incredibly powerful technique.

A psychological technique related to the placebo effect, developed by apothecary Émile Coué at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a form of self-induced suggestion in which individuals guide their own thoughts, feelings, or behaviour. The technique is often used in self-hypnosis.

Autosuggestion – the psychological use of spoken words often in a repetitious nature, to influence the subconscious mind, the main influencer of human behaviour.

I came across autosuggestion by accident.

I was reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill when the term “autosuggestion” was mentioned as a way to influence the subconscious mind.

It’s so important that he dedicated an entire book to it.

AUTO-SUGGESTION is a term which applies to all suggestions and all self-administered stimuli which reach one’s mind through the five senses. Stated in another way, auto-suggestion is self-suggestion. It is the agency of communication between that part of the mind where conscious thought takes place, and that which serves as the seat of action for the subconscious mind.” – Napoleon Hill, Think & Grow Rich

At first, I thought this was balderdash.

Think and Grow Rich was a good book, but you couldn’t possibly influence behaviour just through spoken word…

Right?

After all, repetition is how humans learn. Basketball moves, song lyrics, riding a bike… it’s all the law of repetition.

Repetition is also an essential part of propaganda, something Hitler mastered during his tenure as chancellor of Germany.

We all know what happened afterwards.

The power of thought, of idea, is incommensurable, is immeasurable.

Let’s revisit the notion of the brain as a machine. A supercomputer, rather.

It runs millions of programs a second, can adapt to any circumstance you can think of, and gets better with time and

Like a computer, you run on a default program. This program is your subconscious mind. It houses your “master program”.

Your master program is your personality, your disposition, and your predominant state of mind.

Your master program contains many genetic quirks but these are negligible. Every child comes into this world as a blank slate, if you will. Genetics are a blueprint, not a destination.

From an early and impressionable age, this blueprint was “modified”.

Your parents taught you what to eat, what to wear, what to do.

So did your teachers and to some extent – your peers.

Reprogram the Subconscious Mind

About 95 percent of who we are by midlife is a series of subconscious programs that have become automatic – driving a car, brushing our teeth, overeating when we’re stressed, worrying about our future, judging our friends, complaining about our lives, blaming our parents, not believing in ourselves, and insisting on being chronically unhappy to name a few.” – Dr. Joe Dispenza, Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself

Whether you realize it or not, you have probably been using auto suggestion techniques your whole life.  If you have ever told yourself to wake up at a certain time, “relax,”  “sleep,”  “concentrate,” “smile,” “breathe,” or whatever -- you have used auto suggestions.

In truth, auto suggestion is the simplest and arguably, the most powerful of mind programming tools. It is one of those simple mind power techniques  that is easy, always accessible, can be done anywhere any time (even while driving) and requires no special skill or training.

When are we going to wake up as a society and realize how powerful we are? That our thoughts are creative and the words we give them result in actions that can affect our lives – and the rest of the world… When are we going to stop blaming others for our circumstances and start using the power of our minds to manifest the outcomes we want?

How about right now?

Auto suggestion techniques can be used to improve performance at work, to combat anxiety while driving, in sport, in meditation, dance, even in bed. It can boost your confidence, help you relax, improve concentration, energy and help you sleep. Used negatively, or in ignorance, it can do the opposite as well. And it does.

The Easiest Way to Learn Advanced Auto-Suggestion Techniques Advanced autosuggestion or self-hypnosis techniques are typically easier done with eyes closed to block out visual distraction. (please refer to my article on "How to do Meditation and/ or How to do Self Hypnosis) for more instruction.)  And because the easiest way to learn is by doing, I recommend learning techniques via a guided audio -- rather than simply reading about them.

Obviously I am biased, but I seriously recommend you look at my "How to Self-Hypnosis" program if you are really serious about learning this life-changing ability.

Our brain has five brain wave states:

Gamma – high processing tasks

Beta – predominant awake state

Alpha – highly relaxed state

Theta – very relaxed state, near sleep but still awake

Delta – sleep

The average adult has a high level of beta wave neural activity, which is characteristic of a fully formed prefrontal cortex.

The prefrontal cortex is responsible for decision-making, concentration, self-discipline, and other aspects that we associate with a rational human being.

Because this prefrontal cortex (and the brain in general) is not fully developed, children have mostly theta brain waves. Infants have solely delta wave activity. In fact, an infant may appear to be awake when he/she is actually asleep.

Since children need to learn a great deal about their environment, they are operating on a subconscious theta wave state most of the time.

This is why children are easily influenced. They hear and see everything that’s going on all the time because they are operating from a subconscious level.

This means that many people were programmed with:

Self-limiting beliefs

Outdated or false information

As a result, you have a “master program” that probably doesn’t serve who you are or what your life situation is right now. It has a lot of junk in it that must be “deleted”.

The master program is why:

Some people don’t improve themselves

Some people stay in jobs that they hate

Some people feel at ease around others

Some people are terrible at talking to the opposite sex

Everything you have or don’t have in life is because of the way you think. The way you think is largely determined by how you’re programmed.

You may think you’re an agent of free will but you’re operating on autopilot thoughts most of the time. Your subconscious runs the show 90-95% of the time.

Your parents, your church, your social group, your teachers, the media…all of these forces acted on you on some level during your childhood.

Knowing this, it is no surprise that crime, domestic violence, and all kinds of bad shit still happen in our society!

The children use the behaviour of adults around them as a template for what is and is not acceptable

They never examine it as fully grown adults

They end up having children of their own

The children repeat their behaviour

You can be the jamming mechanism in this cycle.

Reprogramming yourself and your mind to think and act in new ways is how you become a whole new person.

As a wise man once said:

“Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny.”

How autosuggestion brought me from self-hatred to self confidence

Yes, the story absolutely true. As an incoming freshman in college, I had no self-confidence, I had no belief in my own abilities, and I wasn’t excited; I was scared.

After living this way for really my whole life, but being acutely aware of it for about 5 years, I finally went through threshold. I no longer could accept the fact that I was not self-confident, I could no longer live this way, and I had read what effectively was autosuggestion, that if I was to fake it, after a long enough period of time, myself conscious would just believe it.

I had nothing to lose, so as a freshman in college for the first 6 months, all I did was act what I thought was confident; I was cocky… really cocky.

I wasn’t aiming to be cocky, I was aiming to be confident, but I kept telling myself that I was great, I kept telling myself that I was fantastic externally. Internally, my sub-conscious would respond that I was a fool to believe that I was so great.

Over time, about three to six months, my self-consciousness stopped fighting. It stopped saying “No, you’re not great, shut up” It started saying, “Yeah, we like us. I like me.”

This is an enormous typical moment in my life, going from no self-confidence, to liking myself. It sounds funny, but this was done entirely through autosuggestion techniques, and really trying to figure that on my own.

The following auto suggestion techniques are intended to help you become more aware of your own subconscious mind programming, strengthen your abilities and help you take more control over your life.

Mind Programming Technique for Autosuggestion

THE 30 DAYS MENTAL REGIME

Identify what you want to change

Lecky conceived of the personality as a “system of ideas”, all of which must seem to be consistent with each other. Ideas which are inconsistent with the system are rejected, not believed and not acted upon. Ideas which seem to be consistent with the system are accepted.” – Maxwell Maltz, Psycho-Cybernetics

Start paying attention to your self-talk. Whenever you catch yourself in negative self-talk, especially internal dialogue that expresses fear, doubt or self-loathing, DELETE or ERASE it. Then replace it with more encouraging positive words.

To change the subconscious mind, autosuggestion is just one tool you can use. But if you use it right

There’s many ways you can do autosuggestion, but the most efficient and fastest way is through affirmations.

Affirmation" means positive, present tense language stated in the first person. . Apply the same rules to auto suggestion techniques as you would for affirmations.

Your brain is an automatic “goal seeking” mechanism. If you have not programmed yourself with new goals – you will automatically strive towards the goals that are placed in your subconscious.

The ones you’ve been programmed with (which may be negative).

If what you’re suggesting is at cross purposes with goals that are strongly lodged in your subconscious mind, they will not work. The past “goals” plugged in your subconscious have had more time to take root. As a result, they are stronger. These need to be uprooted before positive change can take place. This can also be done through autosuggestion.

For example, you do something wrong and you catch yourself saying “Why am I so stupid?” Immediately say “DELETE!” and then say something positive and encouraging that is appropriate to the situation, such as “I am getting better and better.”  You can also give yourself a direct suggestion that will assist you such as “slow down,” focus, or relax

When I taught the Silva Method, we would teach students to use the phrase “Cancel,” to cancel out negative thoughts and words.  It doesn’t matter which words you use to cancel out negative programming as long as you do it!

RELAX YOURSELF/INDUCTION

Suggestions are taken more readily when your conscious mind, the guard at the gate is “off duty”. This happens most often during:

Sleep

Driving

Immersive work (aka flow)

Hypnotic trance-like states (like meditation)

Relaxing activities (like television)

A trained hypnotist can suggest things to your subconscious and get you to readily act upon them.

Watching television is a form of hypnosis. Advertisers know this, so they take advantage. This is one reason why subliminal advertisements are banned in many countries around the world.

For the purpose of autosuggestion, meditation in an isolated environment is the most effective tool.

Meditation involves relaxing into an awake yet comfortable state. This puts you into a trance, which opens your subconscious mind to greater influence.

HAVE FAITH IN

Your suggestions must be believable.

You have to deeply believe in the amount of change you can have on yourself and your environment as a whole.

Most of us spend all day thinking of negative thoughts and negative outcomes. Why can’t we think the opposite for once?

Feeling Is the Secret

“Sensation precedes manifestation and is the foundation upon which all manifestation rests. Be careful of your moods and feelings, for there is an unbroken connection between your feelings and your visible world. Your body is an emotional filter and bears the unmistakable marks of your prevalent emotions.” – Neville Goddard, Feeling is the Secret

The more emotional punch you can pack behind your autosuggestion, the better your results. Your subconscious, your “master program” is influenced strongly by emotions. How much does this mean to you? Do you have a “why”?

A lot of guys are terrible with feeling emotions. This means that many guys try to produce an outcome through brute force. I’ll tell you first hand – that doesn’t work.

Remember, we don’t think in words – we think in pictures. How will you feel when you achieve your goals? Stay in that emotional state and make that your dominant feeling.

You do this through again, constant repetition.

Your autosuggestion/affirmation must be in the first person and present tense.

You have to see the future already finished in advance. You have to think long term.

According to quantum physics, there is no such thing as past or future because they are conceptions of the mind. Everything exists now and will ever exist now because that is the only reality.

This means that whoever you want to be/are already exists; you just need to “collapse” this into an experience in your life by taking action.

It’s pretty hard to wrap your head around, but once you do, your mind will be blown. This pretty much means ruminating on the past and worrying about the future will only get you the same thing you’ve always gotten.

If you like where you’re currently at, that’s fine. Keep doing what you’re doing. But I’m guessing that you want some lifestyle improvements, or else you wouldn’t be reading this far down.

THINK POSITIVELY

Your autosuggestion must be positive – you cannot use the words “no, never, don’t, can’t” etc. in your suggestion. Your subconscious only responds to positive commands such as “I am always confident” versus “I am never nervous”.

See the difference?

Your subconscious unfortunately can’t take a joke. It’s a sour puss if there ever was one. That means it doesn’t respond to “Haha, JK bro! LOL”. No. If you tell it to do something, that’s what it’s going to do.

When you focus on an outcome like “I am never nervous”, you focus on “don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous…please don’t be nervous…” What happens? You’re nervous.

If you want to get to Florida, you don’t head to Canada.

Going to the extreme end of the spectrum is a way to accelerate your process. What do I mean? For my self-confidence autosuggestion, I acted incredibly cocky.

I didn’t just say, “Yeah I like myself.” I said, “I am the best thing that has ever existed. I am incredible, I am phenomenal” And while I didn’t initially believe those things internally, and I don’t believe them now, by going to that extreme, it helped counteract the opposite extreme.

Think of a bracketing in a negotiation. If you want to get an item for $10, and it’s currently $15, one way to get it for $10 is to offer $5, and meet in the middle. This is what I’m suggesting with overdoing it.

VISUALISATION:

For an individual that wants to see success, visualisation is a technique that could enable you to create detailed mental pictures that depict a specific desired outcome. This is exactly the technique used by Innovators and idea generators when they are designing and creating new products that bring massive development into the World and you too can apply visualisation into your everyday life. These mental images so created.

If you’ve read through our recommended book, ‘Think and Grow Rich’, it is all about visualization for autosuggestion, and utilizing autosuggestion through visualization.

Spend time picturing exactly what it is that you want to happen, and your mind starts to take you there.

An example here would be Jim Carey, before he ever got famous or even slightly known, he was broke, living in Hollywood, driving around in a beaten up car, and one day, he stood at the top of the Hollywood Hills, looking out over Hollywood, he even wrote himself a check for $10,000,000 for “Acting services rendered”. But I’ll let him tell you the story.

And not long after, was making $10,000,000 per movie. This is the power of visualization.

Subconscious mind into accepting them as reality, while directing behaviour as needed towards achieving the desired goal.

Hypnosis:

Hypnosis is a therapy that works with the Subconscious mind as it enables the individual to achieve a state of extreme relaxation. The Subconscious mind is easier to access once you are in this state because the Conscious mind is able to release its grip. The Subconscious mind could be easily reprogrammed to accept new thoughts as reality while under hypnosis.

Subliminal Audios/Videos:

The use of subliminal audios or videos is beneficial to the Subconscious mind whether done while asleep or awake. Just as the Conscious mind is listening to the music being played or the video being watched, the Subconscious mind is hearing the hidden information recorded underneath the audio or video. Bear in mind that your Conscious mind could distract this information from registering on the Subconscious mind if this is mostly done while awake.

Meditation:

When you still your mind using Meditation techniques, you are consciously and unconsciously reprogramming your Mind and that's why Meditation is very important for this process. There are various techniques that you can apply during meditation which could involve incorporating visualisation and imagination as a point of focus for whatever habit you want your Subconscious mind to submit to.

Will & Habit:

'Will' is that part of us that moves us to respond passively or actively to a given situation. On the other hand, we can use our 'Will' voluntarily by being conscious of it or involuntarily by subconsciously taking some actions which are deemed beneficial to us.

Habit on the other hand, is a mental or physical behaviour we have adopted and repeatedly apply in our lives without being conscious of it. For example, when you wake up in the morning and shower before going to work, it is because you have adopted that as a habit of cleanliness. However, nothing prevents you from going to work without having a shower. Considering that you have adopted this as a habit, you repeatedly do it without any second thought.

We possess within us, a force of incalculable power, which, when we don’t handle it consciously is often detrimental to us. On the other hand, if we direct it in a conscious and wise manner, it gives us a mastery of ourselves, and allows us not only to escape and aid others to escape from the physical and mental shackles that hold us back but also to live in health, happiness, and wealth.

Stay driven my friend.

Was this post useful to you? I bet your friends would find it useful too and I’d be thrilled if you shared it with them.

Will and Habit are both mental processes that closely relate to each other. It is the same process we use in forming a habit that we could also apply to reprogram our Subconscious mind with any new behaviour which we intend to make a habit.

Auto-Suggestion (Self-Suggestion):

Control Autosuggestion not to control you.

Self- suggestion is one of the easiest ways we could use to consciously tell our Subconscious mind what we would like to see happen. Take for example; you would like to wake up at 5am in the morning in order not to miss your flight. You could say to yourself before going to bed that 'I want to wake up at 5am' and because this is a very important thing you wish to accomplish, you will agree with me that you will wake up even before that 5am in order not to miss your flight whether you set your alarm clock or not.

Create an exterior feedback loop with others, telling you what it is you want to become.

So, let’s say that you want to be confident, by acting confidently, your friends and family might start mentioning that you seem confident. They might start mentioning that you seem cocky which for me was fine, because I knew that ‘cocky’ led to confidence. So, it may be a little bit of a round about to get there.

In the Vietnam War, the Chinese developed a technique that was incredibly effective at breaking Americans and getting them to turn in or to essentially switch sides. There was no torture involved, at all.

What they did instead, was they sat the American down, gave him a nice meal, gave him cigarettes, made him comfortable, but then, interrogated him for about 24 hours, until mentally, his defences were down. Then they said, “Communism can’t be all bad right? Why don’t you write down a couple of reasons why communism might be okay? “

Then, the GI would write down a few reasons. Next they’d say, “Capitalism can’t be all good, can it? What are some of the reasons why capitalism may not be incredible?” And then, he’d write down some reasons.

Next they’d have the GI sign what he’d written.

The next morning, they read out this GI’s responses that were written on paper with his signature, to the entire camp. At that point, the GI could not deny that he seemed to look very pro-Communist, and not very American.

Worse for him, is that his fellow Americans would start accusing him of being very un-American, a communist, and a traitor. Repeat that exterior feedback again and again over time, at some point, their subconscious said,” I must be a traitor. I can’t deny that I said communism isn’t horrible. I can’t deny that I said capitalism isn’t perfect. Therefore, all of my exterior friends say I am a traitor, therefore, I am a traitor.”

At that moment, they switched sides. These are men who are highly trained in being able to be tortured and give up no information that snapped and went to the other side, reporting on the very men they fought alongside just months before.

Utilizing this in a positive manner for ourselves: doing that which you want to become gets people to tell you that that’s what they see in you, which in turn, tells your subconscious that that’s who you are, and if that feedback loop continues for long enough, that is who you become.

Using these techniques can help you reprogram your subconscious mind while at the same time removing the excessive burden that long established negative thoughts have buried in it. You have the power to achieve this and you can make it happen.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

If you want your autosuggestions to be effective, you need to practice them – often.

Repetition is the best way to influence the subconscious mind. How did you learn to do anything? You did it over and over and over and over again.

Same with your suggestions. You need to do them over and over again until you actually feel that these autosuggestions are you – and you are them.

Here’s an action exercise to get you started:

Write out 10 states/goals you’d like to see accomplished in the next year or so.

Use these steps outlined.

Circle one autosuggestion on that list – that will be your central focus around which all other suggestions will revolve.

Do this every day for the next 12 months.

Autosuggestion is very effective if used properly but it is not a cure all. You should treat it as one tool in your toolbox dedicated towards self-improvement. Like anything else, there are no shortcuts with this.

But if you use persistent, diligent, repeat action – your life will change in incredible ways. I guarantee it.

Here are some of the amazing books that inspired this article. Check them out if you want to further your studies on the subconscious mind and mind programming. These guys were/are masters of the mind.

Now, I want to hear from you. Do you use autosuggestion? How have you achieved your goals using autosuggestion? Let me know in the comments!
