I would like to thank the universe for inspiration, insight, and enlightenment. I would like to thank my parents and family for my early and foundational education and for teaching me the values of hard work and sacrifice. Through them I learned that when we give up what we think we want, we seem to get something even better—that which we actually need.

I am thankful to my teachers and friends in school and in life who have taught me that my potential is limitless and that my duty is to give, not only to others but also to myself. This book could not have been published without the resourcefulness of my wife who has journeyed with me through this process and has spent countless hours giving me feedback and helping to refine the content. Together we are blessed with a son, who has reminded us of the joys of creation, growth, and the dynamic nature of life.

My patients have been my extended family and these teachers of mine continue to inspire me to be the best version of myself as I guide them to do the same. Lastly, and just as importantly, I am thankful to you, the reader, for welcoming me into your life through the words on these pages in your search for contentment, peace, love, and wellness.

When I wrote my first book, CORE 4 of Wellness: Nutrition / Physical Exercise / Stress Management / Spiritual Wellness, I was inspired to help people optimize their quality of life, getting their big rocks of nutrition, physical exercise, stress management, and spiritual wellness in place.

My inspiration to write this book, CORE 4 of Wellness Weekly Inspirations: Who am I? - Volume 1, came from a simple meditation that I carried out over 104 days. Initially, I found myself sitting, breathing in as my belly expanded to invite oxygen into the deepest recesses of my lungs. I would ask the question, “Who am I?” And as I released the breath slowly, slower than I breathed it in, I would sit with the thought, “I am…” Various thoughts would come and go like fleeting clouds in the sky as I kept coming back to the thought, “I am”. Suddenly there would be clarity, the feeling one gets when the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle fits snuggly into its space. In that moment, in that present, I was that and all it represents. As time went on, I learned that I could be any and all of those things that became my daily inspirations.

These inspirations connect with the insights in my original work. I have shared 52 of them here with the hope that you too may identify with some of these and that they bring a smile while inspiring you to reflect a little deeper. As you breathe deep and exhale slowly, find your self in these pages or let them launch your journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, self-respect, self-care, and self-love, unconditionally.

Treat these inspirations as positive reminders as you build a life rooted in contentment and peace.

About the Author

Who am I?

I am unconditional love.

This is the answer to it all. It can comfort us like the flowing waters of a gentle brook and can be the nectar that dispels the modes of ignorance … fear, anger, lust, greed, jealousy, and the like.

Be unconditional love to yourself and emanate it to the world - love unbound to conditions, to expectation. To reach enlightenment, to be in that space, the oneness, heaven, God's abode, nirvana, any and all expressions of the universe, the divine, however you perceive it, the answer is unconditional love.

Be this love, give this love unconditionally, and receive this love unconditionally.

Today I am this unconditional love.

Who am I?

I am a surfer.

I've never surfed. Yet when I think about life balance I think of a surfer who is balancing his or her body on a surfboard that also needs to be balanced on the ever-changing waves of the ocean. This dynamic process defines the journey of life so vividly. In the ocean of life you have to continually adjust and optimize your relationship with these waves so that there is harmony and rebalancing as needed. This can apply to the way in which you approach your personal and professional relationships, emotions, finances, and health.

Just like a surfer, focusing on the present moment, the current situation, and making the necessary adjustments in my goals and expectations, knowing where to put more energy and what to let go of helps me in balancing my life. Being stuck in the past or getting lost in all of the possibilities may disrupt my ability to navigate my current situation causing a wipeout. If this happens, I get back on the board, regain my footing, and find the next wave.

Just as a surfer finds the line to navigate the wave or a golfer finds the line before stroking a putt, I find my line to my goal and then navigate each moment on the journey.

Balance life like a surfer.

Be this surfer.

Today I am this surfer.

Who am I?

I am playful.

Today I awoke with a smile and intent to play and be mischievous.

So here are a couple of fun thoughts:

Those who are present in the present are presented with the present of the present moment.

The only moment for action is now…oops you just missed it…whoa here it is again…darn, there it goes…psych! It's back again…what are you waiting for?

Be this playful.

Today I am this playful.

Who am I?

I am enlightened action for it is this that brings us to an enlightened state of being.

Knowledge is a foundation that allows us to choose action. With right knowledge we have opportunity for right action. Seek knowledge, that which is within and that which is without.

Act with the knowledge that all you need in life are contentment and peace. Do you know what that is for you? Gain this knowledge with self-reflection, engaging in self-dialogue, focusing on breath through meditation and silence. Be still and the vibrations of the universe will reveal themselves and your path. Be distracted and the mucky waters may hinder the view of all that is in your presence. Fuel your journey with love and the mucky waters will be pacified and cleared by the universal energy, that which we may call the divine.

For the divine is love and love is divine. Action with this knowledge is enlightened action.

Be this enlightened action.

Today I am this enlightened action.

Who am I?

I am humble.

Humility is a characteristic and virtue that enables one to release ego bias and embrace the universal truth.

Humility invites love in and embraces the gifts provided to us by the universe. Ego biases our conscious mind and can create a sense of attachment that limits the ability to dwell in sustained happiness.

In humility I appreciate the essence in all things and experiences go from being good/bad to simply being as the mind is redirected from wanting to giving. Anger, sorrow, and frustration dissolve as acceptance and forgiveness forge relationships starting with self, couplehood, children, parents, family, friends, and everyone else.

Be this humble.

Today I am this humble and I am humbled.

Who am I?

I am the blossoming spring season.

As flowers bloom, trees blossom, and the melodious chirping of birds signals the advent of the spring, I nurture the joy in my heart so that I may fertilize and sow the seeds of a life rooted in contentment and peace.

I open the windows of my mind to let in fresh ideas and thoughts to revitalize my life, relationships, goals, and ambitions. Spring cleaning of the mind, body, and spirit allows me to shed the dust and cobwebs of those things that no longer serve me well as I invite a rejuvenated presence deep within.

I uplift my spirit and put a spring in my step by embracing all that I am and all that I can be.

Be this spring.

Today I am this spring.

Who am I?

I am celebration.

This word is so comprehensive and the feeling associated with it is like water frolicking in a stream, mischievous yet gentle and comforting while powerful enough to smooth out the jagged edges or stress points of the rocks over which it flows.

Celebration encompasses feelings of appreciation, gratitude, and positive reflection. It acknowledges the now moment as being a completion and closure while embracing a beginning and opportunity. In celebration there is satisfaction, contentment and peace. Love energy flows and for that moment there is harmony, synchrony, and joy.

Be this celebration.

Today I am this celebration.
