CHAPTER ONE

The Mind is wonderful

Never underestimate the power of thought; it is the greatest path to discovery.”
― Idowu Koyenikan

Now where is the power of men best displayed than in the human mind. A made-up mind could be a formidable weapon against Satan or God or Vice Versa. Like the computer, the mind invariably becomes the deciding unit in the vehicle of our destiny, if the mind is well understood, followed or used as appropriate.

The mind is the faculty of man's reasoning and thoughts. It holds the power of imagination, recognition and appreciation, and is responsible for processing feelings and emotions, resulting in attitudes and actions.

There is no universally agreed definition of what a mind is and what its distinguishing properties are, although there is a lengthy tradition of inquiries in philosophy, religion, psychology and cognitive science.” It is the center of thoughts

Human thoughts

Your thoughts are the primary creative forces in your life. Thought power is the key to creating your reality.

To understand the power of thought, let us go back to the beginning of time. Before the world, as we know it today, existed. God pondered the idea first in His Heart. In the first verse of the first chapter of the Book of Genesis we are told:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”

At this time, heaven and earth were yet to exist in the physical. Everywhere was utter darkness and emptiness. In fact, it was not until the second day of creation that He created

the heavens. The earth was created on the third day!

What about the creation of man? Before He gathered the dust of the earth to form man, He had declared in verses 26 and 27 of the first chapter of Genesis:

Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness … So, God created man in His own image …”

Stop for a moment and ponder over this fact: these verses seem to imply that man manifested in the physical. But we know that man did not appear until the seventh verse of chapter two of the book of Genesis.

7 And the LORD God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

So, what was God teaching us in the first verse of Genesis where we are told that God created the heavens and the earth when we know as a matter of fact that this had not happened then?

Why was man said to have been created when record shows that man was created much later?

Certainly, God did not lie. And He was not deceiving us either. He was teaching us a law that we can depend on at any time, and that is the law of the heart.

He was focusing with deep and enthusiastic thought and imagination on a beautiful world instead of the chaos and darkness that then pervaded the earth. He was seeing the beautiful world in His Heart; and as far as He was concerned such a world was real and tangible to Him.

After picturing such a world in His mind, He went ahead to actualize it. He created the heavens and the earth as well as all living and non-living things. He saw the manifestation of that which He had focused upon and admired the beauty of it all.

But He was not done with creation. He saw that having a man on earth was going to be the crowning glory of His creative enterprise. So, He concentrated His thought on someone who would be like Himself to oversee the earth as His Deputy. He also saw with His heart and in His imagination that the man would need a woman and He focused on a male and a female at the same time.

Your single-mindedness creates your desire

When God eventually acted on the picture He had formed in His heart by creating man from the dust of the earth, He immediately saw that it was not good for the man to be alone. He put the man to sleep and took a rib from his side and made a woman as his companion.

What do you learn from this? When you concentrate on any desire, every fiber of your being is mobilized toward actualizing it. In most cases you would find that circumstances and events just begin to work in your favor in ways you cannot understand.

The Strength in Mind Power.

Simplicity often creates doubt. The truth is: “All physical reality is made up of vibrations of energy; even your thoughts are vibrations of energy. While it sounds like a concept or theory, this is a new reality that quantum physics has revealed to us. Your thoughts have a powerful influence on your life.”

Most of us go through life taking little notice of our thought processes: how the mind thinks, what it fears, what it heeds, what it says to itself, what it brushes aside. For the most part, we go about your lives with minimal attention paid to how we think. We go through life neglecting one of the most important and powerful forces in our life: That is our thoughts.

What you focus on, you attract.

You can achieve Mind Power by directing your thoughts towards a desired outcome. God did the same. Focus on success and you attract success. Focus on fear and failure and you attract failure. Mind Power is understanding these principles and making our thoughts work for us.
