Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak for your work shall be rewarded.

2 Chronicles 15:7

It is clearly stated that when the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable; that is, to every situation you pass through in life there is a reason why God allowed it; this reason is termed “purpose”, for God allowed Joseph to pass through betrayer, the pit and even the prison for him to be crowned in a palace.

The preceding scripture – 2 Chronicles 15:7, acknowledges the fact that a time will come when your hands may seem to be weak; just like that of Moses on the top of the hill with both hands lifted up, for the victory of the Israelites against the Amalek.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed and when he let down his hands, Amalek prevailed.

But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, one on the side, and the other on the other side, and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”

Exodus 17:11-12

Same might be your story, the situations of your life may be gradually tearing you apart and this is making you weak in your Christian faith, for you are gradually accepting failure; and refusing to rise.

Colonel Sander is the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). Yet, before the age of 62, he was told 1009 (one thousand and nine) by folks that he was crazy and a failure yet he did not give up.

Sander at the age of 5, lost his father; and at 16, he was already a drop out from school, at 17, he has lost four jobs – due to lack of experience. At 18, he became a rail road conductor. At 19, he was a father. At 20, his wife left him and took their daughter.

At the age of 50, Sander was tagged a failure by his community and almost committed suicide. At 65, he discovered his passion and purpose of existence, he borrowed $87 (eighty-seven dollars) bought and fried up some chicken using his recipe; Sander went door to door selling the chicken to his neighbours in Kentucky.

And at 74, Colonel Sander was already a millionaire and at 84, Sander became a billionaire.

The story of Sander goes also to you, and to your present situation, illustrating to you that after every tunnel, there is a light. It doesn’t matter how old you are, or how many times you have failed; what matters most is your ability of not giving up, for when the pain is deep, you ought to go deeper in prayer.

Therefore, my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as ye know that your Labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

I Corinthians 15:58

Great men of the universe are people who recognized where they failed, worked on it and moved on, with their vision and dreams unshakable. There is no place in life where true success and greatness comes great or on a platter of gold.

God has given us all, the same 24 hours for everyday. Yet, He alone has the power to make a poor man suddenly rich – Ecclesiasticus 11:21(GNT) and God alone knows the end from the very beginning; He sees and knows all your problems.

Temptations and trials are not from God, it is part of life struggle. It comes from the devil; and only a steadfast Christian can triumph over difficulties and challenges of life.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth any man.”

James 1:12-13

Everyone cherish success yet only those few that endures trials and difficulties on the path of life gets the crown of life. While writing this book, I tried to interview several people to get their view on what “failure” actually means to them.

The first person answered, “I think failure is an act, the act of not achieving what one is supposed to achieve or what one tends to achieve.”

The second person answered, “Failure is not succeeding at something”.

Just like success has different definition same is failure, the definition of failure ranges from “a feeling” of not being welcome to the act of “not seeing” yourself accomplished, but I will like to define failure as the “you” that has not yet arrived at your set destination.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

It is only when you have accepted “failure” and refused to rise that you become “a failure”. This book will actually pull you up from your slumber by reviving your hope and faith in your vision, for just as the walls of Jericho were shattered by God. This book will enable you to breakthrough your walls of limitation. It will energize you, with “courage”, and your fears and worries will be brought to naught.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Jeremiah 33:3.

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail, and thou shall be above only and not beneath; if thou harkens unto the commandment of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day to observe and to do them.

Deuteronomy 28:13

As you read this book, study it diligently and God through this book will speak to your heart “... it is said, today. If ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts…” (Hebrews 3:15), and God will ignite in your heart the fire of success, love and compassion.

Let’s pray:

Almighty father, thank you for my friend’s life. You have placed in my heart the burden to share with them, and to teach them how to rise up after a fall, as you have taught me.

Father, you alone know the part in them, where they are presently passing through challenges. The students, business personnel, sedentary workers, office workers, employee, employers and others, please change their story, as you did to the children of Israelite, when you parted the red sea for them to walk through dry land; so that like Job, they will begin to see more reason(s) to serve you diligently with smile on their faces.

And for those who are presently trying to rise from their present predicament, LORD, as you did to Joseph, when you raised him up from nothing to greatness; hasten up their blessing, so that their effort too will be crowned with crown of success; In Jesus Name. Amen.

God’s Original Plan

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

3 John 1:2

Even though a mother will forget the child she bore, God will never forget you (Isaiah 49:15); God has a divine plan for everyone created; plans of good and not of evil (Jeremiah 29:11)

God had plans for Adam, so He placed Adam in the Garden of Eden, just so as to ensure that Adam actualises the God given plan on his life. In the same way, God has placed in you the seed of success; and He knows everything about you “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands…” (Isaiah 49:16).

Before I formed you in the belly I know thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.

Jeremiah 1:5

God is not a failure, so he will not allow his product to become a failure “And God said, let us make man in our own image, after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26)

Your life is a project before God and God’s project never ends incomplete, “He (God) never sleeps nor does He slumber” (Psalms 121:4)

“For I know the plans (thoughts) that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thought of peace, and not of evil to give you an expected end.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Genesis chapter 37-45, God had a great plan for Joseph, this He showed him in a vision; Joseph had the vision of him becoming greater than his brethren. He saw himself occupying his God given plans. A plan his brethren could not comprehend for to them it seems impossible, hence they decided to set for Joseph, a wrong vision. They plotted amongst themselves to terminate Joseph’s vision, still Joseph had all trust placed in God “In God have I put my trust; I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” (Psalm 56:11).

Joseph’s brethren planned disaster, setback, and death for him, but God was always with Joseph, saving him from their plots, the evil plot of his brethren.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. When thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy one of Israel, thy saviour, I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Isaiah 43:2-3

God’s plan has no limit; He is always with you, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20). He was with Joseph, while in the pit, and at the same time, He was working on behalf of Joseph outside the pit when He spoke through Reuben, Joseph’s brother, terminating the plot to kill Joseph by his brothers.

And Reuben said unto them, shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness and lay no hand upon him...”

Genesis 37:22

God was also with Joseph while he was sold to Portiphar, “And Joseph found grace in Portiphar’s sight, and he served him and he made him overseer over his house…” (Genesis 39:5). God cannot leave you to pass through your ordeal alone. For even in your utmost difficulties and challenges you will find favour. For God is with you and will see to it that you actualise your vision.

God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent; hath he said and shall not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Numbers 23:19

God’s plan for your life is “good”. For everything He created is good; and as God his, so He made you. “Ye are gods because ye are children of God” – (Psalm 82:6); God has so many good plans for your life; among which include, to see you:

  • Dominate

  • Fruitful

  • Multiply

  • Replenish and

  • Subdue the earth

And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

So God created man in his own image; in the image of God created he, male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Genesis 1:26-28

To everything God created, He gave a purpose, the trees created ought to provide food for man and beautify the earth, the sea and all aquatic life has its own purpose, so is the sun, the moon, and stars. But when God created you, He not only gave you a vision(purpose); He placed inside of you drop(s) of greatness, which can only be manifested if you can realise the amount of greatness in you and be able to use this greatness to actualise your vision.

Matthew 25:14-30; a certain master was set out on a journey, and he gave unto one of his servants five talents to another he gave two talent and to another he gave one talent, to every man according to his several ability and he travelled.

He that received five talents went and traded with the same and made them other five talents. And likewise, he that had received one went and dug it in the earth, and hid his master’s money (verse 16-20).

In a similar way, God has placed in you, the potential to succeed, which ought to bear good fruits. It is against God’s plan for you not to develop on the talents, He has placed in you, these talents amongst which are;

  • Long life

  • Healthy living

  • Success

  • Favour

  • Dominating

‘The days of our years are three score and ten, and if by reason of

strength they be fourscore years. Psalm 90:10.

God wants you to live long, He has placed inside of you the talent to long life; God does not support premature death. For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God...” Ezekiel 18: 32. Hence, God expects of you to live and to die at a ripe old age. He does not want you to die young” The days of our years are three score and ten (70 years)...” Psalm 90:10.

In Job chapter 2, The LORD made boast of Job, before Satan, for Job was utilizing all talents (potential) placed in his life; and so Satan, decided to tempt Job, this, God allowed, for He trusted in Job’s ability to overcome every pranks of the devil; still, God warned the devil not to temper with the life of Job, for long life is a precious gift of God to mankind.

... And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold he is in thine hand; but save his life’

Job 2:5-6.

For you to live long you have to believe earnestly in the potential of long life in your gene and without doubt you must be able to profess it, like the psalmist in Psalm 118:17 ‘’I shall not die, but live and declare the work of the LORD’’.

In Mathew 25, the servant with five talents realized and believed on the possibility his talents can be multiplied, and when he developed this vision with courage and faith in God’s word, his talents was multiplied before the return of the master and he was richly rewarded. In the same way, you too can develop your talent of long life; and be surprised at the positive end result.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 23:5-6.
