Some days, if there was a button I could push,

And turn this world into a ball of glass,

I would do it,

Without getting out of bed.

Fade to Black

There is no one here for my love

I find it harder to live

The light is fading now

No one will notice

That I am gone

I will just

Fade to

I stand outside

In a bleak and lonely place

The clammy fog of apathy

The chill of the grave

My only companion.

I look into the windows

And see the warmth and light

The food, the drink, the people

But it is not for me -

The doors are locked.

I draw the shades

Of my soul,

So my eyes

Show not the cold.

The days are bleak,

The shadows long

The fear inside

Oh, so strong.

Plodding through

A life of pain,

I don’t know

What I could gain.

All my goals

Turned to dust,

Blown away

On every gust

My bed an altar

Late at night

Mostly pain
